A demolition engineer has 2 specials: Demolition Charge and Sprint.
Demolition Charge: Orders the combat engineer to place a large amount of explosives at the target location. The charge can be remotely controlled by the engineer.
Extremely powerful, can destroy a heavy tank if placed near one; this is also a good strategy: if you have an engineer, place c4 on a command point, and if it gets captured, detonate the c4 and then try to recapture.
Cannot destroy helicopters.
Recharge time: 30 seconds, 26 seconds, 21 seconds, 17 seconds, and 14 seconds, depending on rank.
Sprint: The demolition engineer moves at double speed, but cannot engage enemies for the duration of the ability.
Lasts 10 seconds.
Is a defensive ability.
Recharge time: 20 seconds, 17 seconds, 14 seconds, 11 seconds, and 9 seconds, depending on rank.
Demolition Engineers are not suitable for open combat. However, they can be used to plant charges on command points, so that when the enemy comes to capture it, you can blow up all the units around it. They can also be used to destroy vital bridges, forcing the enemy to spend time and effort on finding a new route. But other than that, demolition engineers are virtually useless in combat. The rifle can do little damage against most infantry and vehicles.
Demolition engineers are rarely seen in domination matches. Therefore, the strategy for the demolition engineer is extremely limited. However, they are more likely may appear in assault or tug of war matches.
