The Lun-class ekranoplan (NATO callsign: Duck) is an ekranoplan, which is a type of ground effect vehicle created in the Soviet Union. Several of these ekranoplans were used during the Invasion of Norway to transport the invading Soviet forces on the northern Norwegian coast.[1]

It is smaller than the KM prototype, and was purposely built for swift and efficient amphibious assault craft. Its main offensive weapon is a six pack of P-270 Moskit Surface to Surface Missiles. The translation of "Lun" is Harrier.

Trivia[]

  • In our timeline, only one Lun-class ekranoplan—the MD-160—was built by the Soviet Navy. The MD-160 was later retired from naval service in the late 1990s.
