The M60A3 Patton is a medium tank developed for the United States Army in 1962. The M60A3 is one of the most protected tanks in the world.

Description[]

The M60A3 or known as the Patton is the one of the best tanks in the United States, which is why it is still fighting alongside it's bigger cousin, the M1A1 Abrams. The M60A3 was built with flexibility in mind: The M60A3 is a fairly fast tank and has the ability to engage infantry effectively. The M60A3 is equipped with a 105mm Rifled Gun, which is less effective than the 120mm Smooth Bore Gun of the M1A1 Abrams. Though weaker than the latter, the M60A3's gun is strong enough to combat ground units other than Heavy Tanks. The M60A3 can fire standard Armor Piercing rounds as well as White Phosphorous Rounds. The White Phosphorous is dangerous to infantry. When fired, the round releases poisonous WP gases, which causes severe burns to the skin.

The M60A3 uses a combination of composite armor with ERA, which is strong enough to stop small-arms fire, Rocket-Propelled Grenades, and Medium tanks Guns. But the M60A3's armor is almost incapable of decreasing damage from the 125mm guns of a enemy Heavy Tank. The M60A3 can be deployed in more numbers than the more expensive US Heavy Tank. Which is why they can be seen in more numbers. They can swarm enemy Heavy Tanks, but is not a good option, since heavy tanks are known for decimating medium tank groups easily. The M60A3's Secondary Armament is a 12.7mm Browning Heavy Machine Gun, which can help the M60A3 combat Air Units and infantry units nearby. The Units that are capable of taking down a M60A3 are Heavy Tanks, Heavy Attack Helicopters, and it's counterpart the T-62A.

Gameplay[]

The M60A3 is a tank that is favored for it's speed and flexibility. Though the M60A3 does lack firepower, it makes up for it's special ability, White Phosphorous. The M60A3 can also hunt down running units due to it's high speed over the Abrams. The M60A3 can storm command points in larger numbers than the latter. But the tactic comes at a high price: It is unknown for sure that the tactic might succeed, but what is sure is that a group of M60A3s will always have casualties. Combat out in the open is a bit dangerous for the M60A3, since they are open to attack from enemy heavy tanks. But they have the ability to last longer in urban areas.
